A Facebook page is a good start for an association, but it has two problems: posts sink within days, and part of the audience (and practically all institutions) don't use Facebook. Anyone who wants to check what the association does, when training sessions take place or how to join needs one permanent place with organised information.
A website also brings credibility where money is decided: in municipal and national grant applications, and with sponsors and donors. An association with a tidy website looks active and worth supporting — because the information speaks for itself.
What must an association website have?
- A presentation of activities, sections and the team — who you are and what you do.
- News and announcements — posts that don't sink like on social media.
- Events: training sessions, rehearsals, matches, gatherings, general assemblies.
- Photo galleries from events — the strongest invitation for new members.
- A membership form — the application submitted directly through the site.
- Public documents: statutes, rules, reports for grant applications.
- Contacts and links to your social media profiles.
Content managed by your secretary, not a programmer — BlocCMS
The website comes with BlocCMS, our content management system built for people without technical knowledge: news, dates or photos are published by the secretary or anyone authorised in the association — in minutes, through a simple interface, without calling a developer. Changes are live immediately.
For an association this is essential: content changes weekly, and the budget can't support paying for every post. With BlocCMS, day-to-day publishing is in your hands, while we make sure the technology runs reliably.
Tip: Editing can be split: one person manages news, another the galleries — each accesses only the agreed content.
Members-only pages — an internal area
On request we extend the site with a password-protected area for members only: internal announcements, minutes, materials, schedules and documents that aren't meant for the public. Members log in with a password, and you control who sees what.
Members-only pages make sense for larger associations with regular internal communication; smaller ones are usually fine with the public part — we advise honestly, based on your needs.
Tip: Members-only pages and documents are covered by the Members (€390 + VAT) and Documents (€190 + VAT) modules. With two modules at once, the second is 20% off. All modules and plugins with prices
Multiple languages for international projects
Associations involved in European projects, hosting international events or partnering with associations abroad need at least an English version of key pages. We set the site up bilingual (SL/EN), with other languages if needed — all content is edited through the same BlocCMS.
How much does a website for an association cost?
We know what association finances look like: membership fees, grants and volunteer work. So we offer two clear paths. Rental: no initial investment — you pay €39 + VAT per month with a 24-month term, with development, hosting, domain and maintenance already included. A predictable monthly cost fits neatly into the annual plan and grant applications.
One-time development: if the association has the funds, you pay once (from €590 + VAT) and the site is yours — running costs are then only hosting and the domain.
