FitBlizu: a gym map for Slovenia and Croatia

Challenge

FitBlizu is our own product. Anyone looking for a gym in a new town or while travelling usually searches through lists, maps and individual gym websites. It is hard to tell what is open, whether there is a day pass and what it costs.

Gym lists are often out of date, prices have no date and reviews do not tell you whether a gym is busy right now. We wanted a map that shows only verifiable information and honestly leaves out what we do not know.

Goal: One reliable gym map for two countries that shows only verifiable data and that AI search engines understand too.

Solution

FitBlizu is a map where each gym is one marker. A click shows the address, opening hours, day-pass and membership prices with the date they were last checked, equipment and services. Filters narrow the map to gyms that are open now, open 24/7 or offer a day pass, sauna, pool or group classes.

Visitors at a gym report how busy it is with one tap. Only anonymous reports from the last 60 minutes are shown, so crowd levels are never stale. When we do not know something, we do not show it.

Gym owners can claim their profile without an account or password. After an editor checks the request they get a secure link to edit opening hours, prices, equipment and images, plus a badge for their website that links to the profile. User corrections are reviewed by an editor.

The app runs in Slovenian, Croatian and English, and language and country are independent, so every gym is available in all three languages. City, region and feature pages have their content in plain HTML without JavaScript, structured data (ExerciseGym, ItemList, FAQPage) and an llms.txt file with citation guidance, so AI search engines can read them too. FitBlizu can be installed on a phone's home screen like an app.
